The apocalyptic message of this song was in complete contrast to the spirit of optimism promoted by Neil Armstrong's moon landing "a small step for a man, but a giant leap for mankind".

Another interesting detail about the song: no rather station was allowed to play it for a while after 9/11 in the USA due to its pessimistic and apocalyptic message.
